Yokohama Tire Heads to Texas for Porsche Endurance Challenge North America Finale
All vehicles will run ADVAN® A005 racing slicks in Austin on Nov. 22-23
It’s on to Texas for Yokohama Tire and the season finale of the Porsche Endurance Challenge North America. All vehicles will be fitted with Yokohama’s ADVAN A005 slicks for the one-make racing event at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) in Austin, November 22-23.
The Porsche Endurance Challenge at COTA is the conclusion of the four-race inaugural season which featured three 60-minute races leading up to the six-hour finale. For this six-hour event, teams of two to three drivers compete for class wins in a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport or a 911 GT3 Cup (Type 992) race car. A coveted overall series championship is also at stake for the stacked field of drivers.
“It's truly been an honor to supply ADVAN A005 tires for Porsche Endurance Challenge North America, the first single-make endurance championship in North America,” said Patricia Wall, Yokohama’s motorsports senior manager. “Yokohama is proud to have played a part in this historic season, and we look forward to the upcoming six-hour finale at COTA.”
“When we began the Porsche Endurance Challenge North America, we knew it would be an experiment, a concept we would need to prove,” said Volker Holzmeyer, President and CEO, Porsche Motorsport North America. “Now we go into the finale with one of the most impressive lists of drivers anywhere in one-make racing. This looks more like a GT3 entry list than a one-make. That shows we are on the right path. Yokohama joined this experiment from the start and has again proven to be a perfect partner. They have embraced the challenges of endurance one-make racing with us at Porsche Motorsport North America and with our customers.”
Notable driver lineups at COTA include:
- Patrick Dempsey, Patrick Long and Team Yokohama member Tanner Foust in the Cayman Class.
- Ian Porter (2024 Porsche Sprint Challenge North America Cayman Class champion), Caroline Candas (2024 Porsche Sprint Challenge North America Cayman Class runner-up) and team owner Rafael Martinez in the Cayman Class.
- Therese Lahlouh (PSCNA Porsche Mobil 1 Female Driver Program North America), Madeline Stewart (PCCNA Porsche Mobil 1 Female Driver Program North America) and Nik Romano in the GT3 Class.
- Riley Dickinson (current Porsche Selected Driver Program North America driver and 2023 PCCNA champion), Blake McDonald (PSCUW 992 champion) and Trent Hindman.
- Michael Clark (PSCNA GT4 Masters champion), Loek Hartog (PCCNA 2024 champion) and Kay van Berlo (current Porsche Selected Driver Program North America driver)
