Brand and Product Names

The brand and product names are always molded into the sidewall of a tire. In this case, we see the Yokohama brand and ADVAN APEX product line names clearly marked.

Construction Details

A tire’s sidewall also contains information about its construction, including the number of plies (carcass ply), type of ply material and the number of belts and nylon (cap-ply) on the tread area. It also often identifies the number of plies in a sidewall area.

The markings on this tire indicate that it has one polyester, two steel belts and two nylon cap-plies on the tread, plus two sidewall polyester plies in the sidewall area.
