Yokohama Tire Corporation’s ADVAN® Legacy Continues with the Launch of Two New Ultra High-Performance Tires

/Consumer News

FULLERTON, CA (July 1, 2013) – Performance enthusiasts are getting a double dose of good news with Yokohama Tire Corporation’s (YTC) announcement of two new additions to its ADVAN® line of ultra high-performance tires: the ADVAN Sport® V105 and ADVAN Neova® AD08 R, which go on sale in the U.S.today.

“The best just got better… and faster,” said Andrew Briggs, Yokohama director, marketing and product planning. “Yokohama is long known for its legendary high-performance technology, and our next-generation ADVAN products, the ADVAN Sport V105 and ADVAN Neova AD08 R feature race-inspired engineering and design, as well as innovative new compounds that improve wet and dry traction. The results are spectacular.”

Briggs said the V105, developed at Germany’s famous Nürburgring race complex, will ultimately be available in 55 sizes, with 13 sizes initially rolled out at launch. The line-up will range from 17-inch to 20-inch sizes and will be applicable for high-end luxury/performance vehicles, in addition to the Mercedes Benz original equipment fitments that are already available.

The AD08 R, which Briggs says raises the bar of pure performance, will be available in 37 sizes, with 10 sizes initially rolled out at launch, the balance of which is scheduled to become available throughout this summer. The sizes will range from 15-inch to 19-inch and will have fitments for a variety of sport coupes, intended for drivers in search of extreme levels of grip and precision handling.

Both tires are designed with innovative, specialized compounds featuring YTC’s orange oil technology for enhanced traction and road surface adhesion. According to Briggs, the V105 was developed with leading European carmakers to create high levels of both wet and dry grip as well as a comfortable and quiet ride. In addition, technology derived from Yokohama’s motorsports activities across the globe, was incorporated in the construction of the tire to provide high speed stability and further enhance the V105’s handling capabilities.

The newly developed compound and targeted construction for the AD08 R was designed to improve performance in wet and dry conditions, and lower lap times for driving enthusiasts. “The AD08 R is another step in the evolution of the ADVAN Neova product line,” said Briggs “a perennial class leader has just become much better.”
