Yokohama Tire Corporation is committed to protecting your privacy and the information you share with us.  This Privacy Policy is intended to provide you with information about how we use, store, and protect the confidential information you may share with us.  

What information does Yokohama collect?

We only collect information you provide us to perform the services you request.  

For example, when you register products that are purchased from an authorized Yokohama dealer, we may ask for your name, address, email address, along with the name and address of the dealer from whom you purchased the products, date of purchase and identifying information about the products.  We use this information to register your product and to provide you important information such as warranty information.  Similarly, if you sign up for our mailing list, we may use your email address or other information you share with us to provide you news about Yokohama and its products.

When you visit our website, we may also collect your internet protocol (IP) address, browser type, operating system, computer or mobile device, or navigation and clickstream information.  This information is used in a non-identifiable aggregate form only to help us improve your experience on our website.  We do not use this information to identify or contact you.

We will not sell or share your personal information with any third parties without your permission or except as described in this Privacy Policy.

Your consent

By filling out one of our online forms, you were asked to consent to our collection and use of your personal information as is described in this Privacy Policy.  Similarly, by reaching out to us via email, telephone, or in person, you are providing us your consent to communicate back to you.  Finally, by using our website you are agreeing that we may collect anonymous information regarding your visit to our site.  

How does Yokohama use my information?

When you register your product with us, Yokohama stores your information internally to ensure that Yokohama has a method to contact you in the event it becomes necessary for Yokohama to provide important warranty or recall information about its products to you.

With respect to Yokohama Dealers, Yokohama uses your information to enable you to take advantage of the features available through the Site. Once you register, you are no longer anonymous to Yokohama: you are given a Yokohama ID and are able to take full advantage of Yokohama's many offerings. Additional information you volunteer enables us to better customize your experience. We may also use your contact information to reach you regarding important issues about the use of our service. 

Finally, we use information that you provide us when you email us for the sole purpose of corresponding with you and providing you information about our products. 

Any personal financial information obtained during an online purchase process is used only to complete the order online, to confirm the order and shipment of the order via email, and to provide related customer service.

What are "cookies" and how does Yokohama use them?

A "cookie" is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a Web server and gets saved on your computer hard drive temporarily. I am a Dealer and want to cancel my Yokohama account. How can I do so?

Your Yokohama account can be terminated at any time by providing Yokohama with written, email or telephone notification of your desire to terminate your account. Once you do so, however, you won't be able to access any Dealers-only area of the Site. I want to review, change, update, remove or otherwise modify information that I have provided to Yokohama in the past. How can I?

You can email us at info@yokohamatire.com or call us at (800) 722-9888 #2 at any time and we will gladly provide you with access to the personal information you provided to Yokohama and assist you in changing, updating, modifying, or removing any information in our records that you have previously provided. This contact information may also be used to request any information relating to our handling of personally identifiable information available to you pursuant to any law.

Product Registrants please note, although we will make reasonable efforts to remove the information you provided to us when registering your product(s), we cannot guarantee that you will not receive warranty or recall notices in the future in the event it is necessary to send such notices. In addition, due to the importance of the information in such notices, we urge you to continue to have your products registered with us and update us in the event of any changes to your personal contact information.

Children's privacy

We do not knowing collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 without parental consent, unless permitted by law.  If we learn that a child under the age of 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it in accordance with applicable law.
