Tiremaker claims five of the top 10 overall spots in the iconic 12.42.-mile "Race to the Clouds"

Yokohama Tire had another successful outing on the mountain. Led by first-place division winners Laura Hayes, Dani Sordo, David Donohue and Cole Powelson, Yokohama drivers claimed 5 of the top 10 overall spots on ADVAN® tires at the 102nd Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

Hayes, who won the Pikes Peak GT4 Trophy by Yokohama division in a Toyota GR Supra GT4 fitted with ADVAN A052® tires, became the fastest female up the mountain in a car with a record-breaking time of 10:20.487. Yokohama is the exclusive tire supplier of the Pikes Peak GT4 Trophy by Yokohama division.

“Sunday was a good day not only for me, but for women in motorsports,” said Hayes. “I’m proud to have won the GT4 class and breaking the record was an added bonus. I know this record will continue to fall as more and more of us take up this challenge, and I can’t wait to see who can do it next.”

Another “Race to the Clouds” record and division victory was recorded by Dani Sordo. The Spaniard won the Exhibition division in a Hyundai IONIQ 5 N TA Spec modified car with ADVAN A005 racing slicks, clocked a 9:30.852 which earned him third place overall and the official electric modified production record. Sordo’s Yokohama teammates helped Hyundai sweep the podium with Randy Pobst coming in second and Ron Zaras taking third. Zaras, a Pikes Peak rookie, also set the official record of electric production SUV/crossover with a time of 10:49.267 on ADVAN Sport® V107 tires.

Yokohama’s David Donohue was another big winner, earning a “threepeat” by taking the Time Attack 1 division for thebthird straight time. He piloted his 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo R on ADVAN A005 tires to the finish line in 9:49.429.

Additionally, Cole Powelson, a Team Yokohama athlete, drove his single-seat Sierra Echo A-Spec on 13-inch ADVAN A005 racing slicks to a first-place finish in the Open Wheel division.

“We are thrilled with our outstanding performance at Pikes Peak,” said Patricia Wall, Yokohama’s motorsports senior manager. “Once again, our ADVAN tires contributed to several class wins and record-breaking achievements.
