“We’re not surprised at anything Travis does anymore,” said Andrew Briggs, Yokohama Tire’s vice president of marketing and product management. “Gymkhana 2020 has been viewed more than 51 million times, so Travis knew he’d have to take it to another level for the new video, and he did. And once again he showed the world what can be done on a set of Yokohama ADVAN tires.”
The latest and wildest edition of the global automotive stunt video phenomena (the 12th installment of the series) is the second-in-a-row for Pastrana and features bigger air, higher stakes and never before seen stunts that are the hallmark of Gymkhana. “The Family Huckster is without a doubt my all-time favorite vehicle to drive,” said Pastrana. “It was rad having the opportunity to drive such a wild machine. We really put the Yokohama tires to the test with all the wild stunts, jumps, landings, different terrains and weather conditions, and they were excellent, as always.”
Among the locales for the adrenaline-fueled stunts were the Florida Keys, Marathon Bridge and Fort Lauderdale.
“Having Yokohama back on board for Gymkhana 2022 was an absolute must,” said Ron Zaras, VP of Brand + Creative at Hoonigan Media Machine, a partner with Yokohama and Subaru on the project. “Gymkhana driving requires a really specific performance window from a tire, which the ADVAN A052 is absolutely perfect for: big grip, progressive breakaway, and big smoke of course. Plus, Travis knows he can trust the grip in the tire – kind of important when you’re chucking slides at over 100 mph!”
